Layering/texture - This is the winter trend of all winter trends - mixing textures all together, sequins, fur, cotton, cashmere, mohair. Don't only mix textures, mix colours too - Camel, grey, white, cream and beige are my winter favourites.
Androgyny - Girls dress like boys, "go for masculine clothes in robust fabrics" says Vogue. Pair with a classic handbag like Celine's doctor bag or go for a metallic bag or jewel toned bag that is boxy with a furry accessory. The only shoe to wear a brogues or a cigarette heel.
Jewel tones - A Burgundy jumper with black skinnies and jewels (green) are a casual outfit that nod to the jewel tone trend. If you want to dress it up go for heels and leather trousers instead.
Fetish - River Island is selling a beautiful leather skirt (£30) that paired with a jewel toned fedora hits two birds with one stone, pair with brogues or slippers (glitter ones would be nice.) For a quirkier look mix with the dotty trend and pair with opaque black spotty tights.
Forties elegance - Go Gucci with alligator bags, fedoras and feminine shapes - Mix in a few jewel tones, pair with a glossy red lip and your there.
Sixties or forties - If your feeling nostalgic this trend is for you. Go vintage and search through your mother and grandmothers wardrobe.
Dots - If it's only a pair of dotty tights from topshop - I promise it's fun
Prints - Johnathan Saunders style dresses are everywhere hit the highstreet and find a print that suits you.
Heritage - Tweeds are perfect, Jack Wills does an amazing selection of proper British clothes that are made for this trend.
Fur - Go all out in and pair Marks and Spencer's blue faux fur jacket with leather trousers and killer heels or go for a furry key chain on your bag - The thing with fur is you can do as much or as little as you like - although primark are doing a purple faux fur stole which would go perfectly with any outfit...
