Don't ask, but here are my social tips

Lets start,

This is what I usually do in a social situation, I've never really spoken to a complete stranger before but I naturally do this at parties, nights out, holidays etc

If you meet a person that you want to talk to, make a link
  • Where they live
  • Mutual friends
  • Mutual enemies
  • Their outfits/hair/looks (complimentary)
  • The place your in
After you have made a link talk about how your linked to where they live for example. Throw in a funny story and then a bit of banter. Laughing is a key element.

Always try and get their number, if you can't ask in casual way make up and excuse as to why you would need it, or just ask its what phones are for. If you don't get their number add them on Facebook and then message them afterwards even if its just for a little bit because then if you meet them again its not awkward.

Now if this new acquaintance is a love interest a lot of cheeky banter, laughter and closeness is key. Don't be boring, be interesting and lively. Don't be too keen, move around the social circle, catch a few peoples eyes, try and talk to everyone so even if your interested in one person your still playing hard to get.

But if you do like one specific person make sure you spend time with them more than everyone else and try and get some chemistry flowing.

Here are some topics I move on to with Girls:
  • Hair/Fashion
  • Boys they like
  • Their school (+mine)
  • Their friends
  • Interesting stuff thats been going on with me

Topics with boys
  • Sports
  • Games
  • Past girls they have been with
  • Their social life
The two are pretty interchangeable depending on the person but after a few minutes you should know what they are in to.

Good Luck x

Fashion thoughts/Topshop update

Hey girlies,

So I'm very excited at the moment because Phoebe Phelan is now head of Topshop, get prepared for some pieces that are really workable and versatile. Obviously Topshop will still have the trendy products that we all love but they will have more longevity. CANT WAIT

At the moment I really want some Stella McCartney style tuxedo trousers but feel they are a little to old for me and haven't found and amazing slouchy pair that are at a good price. However New look do a few leggings with the same line down the side like Stellas which are more wearable for people my age. Also Zara do some amazing trousers in the women and TRF section, in particular some red ones.

Today I wore some electric blue jeans and a micheal kors vest top with gold beaded shoulders and black pumps. I wore this with powder eyeliner for a smokey effect and a soignée ponytail and aviators. This was a really nice outfit because it showed that blue and black can work in certain circumstances and also this outfit works for summer and winter. Will definitely be wearing it again but maybe with some heels or lace.

I also bought myself some high waisted black shorts, they are really for winter because they are thicker than most shorts but they could work for summer with a blouse. I really like them and so far I have paired them with printed vests from Topshop and Burgandy jumpers.

Coats have also been a big thing for me recently because I want a new one but I don't want to spend any money. Topshop did some really cute boyfriend coats but their colours didn't really go with the rest of my clothes and their quilted biker jacket (in a barbour material) sold out. But I found a thick coatigan in Gap which works with a lot of stuff because its a dark grey and I have also stolen a big fluffy jacket of my mums in a dark brown which is cropped. So far those are the only coats that will be keeping me warm this winter but I'm sure I will find something soon.

Shoes wise I have seen a lot of celebrities sporting cigarette trousers with matching tuxedo jackets with simple vests in the evening but the main thing that steers these outfits away from work wear is metallic shoes being paired with them gold, silver and bronze all make excellent accessories.

In the coming week I want so find some fun and edgy accessories to wear for the winter, I'm thinking big chunk necklaces and stacks of rings. I want a lot of spikes and maybe a few jewels, If you have any ideas add a comment!

What I've bought recently .....

Here are some links of clothes that I have bought recently - Hope you like them.
also sorry for the topshop overload - I'm obsessed

Topshop - Sleeveless black top

This top works with shorts and pretty much any type of trousers. Personally I like to tie it in to a crop top and pair it with Aztec print leggings and bright shoes (i.e wedges.)

There are a lot of these about and a really like the simple cotton ones.

Other places to buy (similar): New Look, H&M, Urban Outfitters, Primark, River Island

Topshop - Peace sign vest

This top is so nice and really well priced. It works with shorts, jeans, black skirts, trousers - it's very versatile. It also looks great with a vibrant top underneath and it also comes in pink. I love wearing it with denim shorts and pumps.

Haven't seen many other tops like this but Topshop do a few other tops with Peace signs on them and there are some peace sign leggings in New Look.

Topshop - Animal border vest

This top works with all my trousers especially my bright blue ones! I like to wear it with skinny black treggings and a leather jacket.

Topshop do another top very similar to this but with a higher cut and longer sleeves for a more demure look but other than that I haven't seen any other print tops quit like it.

Other places to buy : Republic, Urban Outfitters, H&M

Topshop - Jamaica Sundress

I LOVE this dress and surprisingly it looks good with tights for the winter. I like to pair it with my vintage christian Dior men's cardigan (grey) and simple pumps but it also looks great with more vibrant cardigans and wedges.

If your on a budget there are some other sundresses in: Republic, New Look, Superdry, H&M, Topshop

H&M - Cut off denim shorts

These cut offs have some Aztec detailing on them which is really cool and obviously denim shorts work with everything :)

H&M had a huge range of cutoffs and shorts (pastel, linen, sequined, studded, washed out, ripped, patterned, coloured, dip dyed) and they are all really feel priced.

Other places to buy cut offs with added detailing: Topshop, New Look, Republic< Hollister

Sorry I couldn't get pictures up of them this week having a few technical issues ;)

Comment with your thoughts and also other shops you have seen similar clothing in - also comment if you want to see more posts like this <3

Sorry I couldn't help it ...

My art exam is coming up and I've decided to make a special playlist just for it!
Really want some nice chilled out songs but also a few which will keep me motivated - so email in if you have any good ones no cheesy songs like eye of the tiger please!

I've already started with some :
Stooshe
Birdy
Lana Del Rey
Maverick Sabre
Chiddy Bang
New Order
Beyonce
Rihanna
Superclub
Ellie Goulding
Pixie Lott
The Script
Jessie J

So yeah email in everyone :)

Well thats annoying

Looking at my stats which I try not to do but when your this bored....
Anyway the most popular of all my pages are my fashion pages.
So after renouncing them somewhat I've decided they'll become a bit more present.
Hopefully you guys like them - email in if you have any tips x

P.s usually I do all that crazy stuff with fonts and sizes with my words but I can't be bothered :)

Yes I spent my bank holiday....

What did you do this bank holiday?

I'm not joking...I'm actually interested.

I did plan to go for a coffee with a new friend but she was too hungover. At first I was a bit mift about it because I have bought an amazing new top (kaleidoscope racerback vest - topshop) and after updating a review on Topshop.com about it and then going to Asos to see if anyone had made an outfit with it - I was prepared to look quite dashing in it.

But instead if doing that (quite glad I haven't stepped foot outside because it was drizzling) I decided to watch Harry Potter and make some more Topshop reviews and then I came across my old blog and now I'm starting it afresh.

I have to say blogging is less of a chore now because I'm fairly confident my friends have given up reading it and now I'm typing on my new baby (iMac) it's so much more fun.

Also typing whilst giving my undivided attention to Mr Radcliffe adds to the enjoyment.  I haven't been completely honest with you all but I'm a total Harry Potter obsessive; I watch all the films in a row sometimes (it takes like 2 days) and usually I wear pj's the whole time :)

So anyway What did you do this bank holiday? Please say i'm not the only one who hasn't left the house

xoxo

I'm very, very sorry x

It's been ages I know and I am truly sorry ... what am i saying? I've been totally submerged in art exams, revision, procrastination, youtube, friends, shopping all that jazz

Now I used to endlessly upload things about boys, fashion and music - but fuck that.

Sorry, your probably not supposed to swear here....

Anyway the reason why I'm no longer doing that is because I was trying to be someone I'm not. Yes I like boys and fashion and music and all of that...but its hard to keep you all up to date.

Don't worry I'm still going to write about all of that stuff but I'm not going to be so try hard about it all and I hope you like my "renovation" x

It's been a while...

It's been ages but I promise I have been really busy. Mainly skiing, I went to Austria with my school adn it was one of the best holidays I've ever been on and I miss it so much. It was one of those holidays that when you have to go you really don't want to leave and when you get back to school you hate it. Hopefully I'm going next year or with the same group of people because damn did I make some good friends.

The whole guys posts that I've been leaving is still going but I forgot the numbers and realised it wasn't the best system anyway so I'm just going to use intitals from now on. Here goes....

S.W - So glad we made friends skiing and it's stuck, even though there are loads of rumours flying around I hope we can still hang out loads.

B.D - Well things should hopefully take off at the party next weekend - but I'm not good at making the first move.

C.S - Thanks for blanking me today :/ Maybe tomorrow x

G.T - okay fine ..... I still like you but even if it was the right moment I wouldn't because you don't deserve me.

Thats it for now xx

New year. New me.......maybe next year.

New years was a boring event, didn't get up to much and it wasn't a joyous and exciting occasion like it normally is, it was quiet and to be blunt, boring.

So this year I didn't feel a monumental change, I didn't feel the need to:
  • get a drastic haircut
  • get a new outfit
  • get new friends
  • get a new hobby
  • find a new drink of choice
  • find a new idol
  • find a man
  • change my work ethic
  • change my personality
  • make new years resolutions
So this year I didn't feel the need to change anything but the strange thing is I'm not contented with who I am, I want to progress and try new things but this year it just didn't happen. Next year hopefully will be different, I have hopes for it to be amazing and when I walk in to 2013 it will be a year of change.

So this year - what am I going to do? I'm going to be selfish, I'm going to do things for me and then maybe once I'm happy with myself I can move on to my friends and family. Surely I have to be happy with myself for my loved ones to be happy with me? That's the reason behind this years focus - I'm a bit scared though because I have the feeling that I'm not in for a peaceful year.

Boys:
1. Nice to hear from you x
2.I've been speaking to you constantly for like 3 days now - wow I thought we knew everything about each other - apparently not x
6.Thanks for helping me dodge that bullet (:
8.Did you see me walking past today? Hope you did because I was feeling amazing without you x
11.Had fun at new years and I love your dog still x

Oh and if this means anything to you - just had a virtual conversation with the rapper Devlin - starstruck (:
